Wordpress Is Wonderful
Well I just started to install several Wordpress sites for a new client and I like it. Wordpress is like a Joomla offspring. It is less complex, but is built in similar way.
It is search engine friendly. You have to install a special plugin called All-in-one-seo-pack and it is amazing. You can alter everything. You can put no-follow tags, de-index categories, set the title tags, you can even decide if the site name will appear in the Page Titles. I can not do that in Joomla from the admin section, It requires a special hack.
It is spidered without incoming links. So you do not have to get high PR incoming links to index your Wordpress site. And that is a big big plus. It is kind of sucked into the search engines. It uses Ping services and alerts other sites for each new article. This is wonderful option.
It has the biggest collection of free themes that I have seen till now. Joomla is basically lacking themes, so you have to buy them from special sites and those themes are cluttered with code and SEO unfriendly. Not Wordpress. I checked few of the latest themes and they are all W3C complaint, table less, with minimum code. This is amazing. You can easily alter your theme if you know html and a bit of php. Themes are little different from Joomla and Drupal, and they are divided into parts like left, footer, right, center and I hate this. I want to have the core theme code in one file, not divided in 5 files. But still it is not so hard to customize a theme that is already compliant and table less. I hate tables!!!!!
Another thing is that Wordpress seems not to suffer with speed. I have checked few sites built in Wordpress and they all run fast. Joomla and Drupal are slower if you ask me.
That is a big big plus for WP.
Another thing is you can add forums as plugins, (drupal has that, Joomla also, but in Joomla upgrading the forum requires more work, database hacks)
And there is a huge community, like in Joomla.
But the WP is still not a winner. It is a clear winner for a simple site, I can not deny that. And in many cases you do not need more than a simple site. Joomla 1.5 is coming out soon, so WP watch out.
I will convert my Geeklog to Worpress but I have to do it manually. There is a special tool for migrating to WP but it is too complex and you have to hack it for the images
.
If you compare Geeklog to Wordpress, the Wordress is a winner definitely. I mean upgrading Geeklog is a nightmare. Can you imagine the difference between dentist with a foot drill and a dentist with latest Waterlase technology? That is how I feel when comparing Geeklog and Wordpress upgrades.
Any bad things I can say about WP? Not for now.

Digital Point Forums, Seochat, Webmasterworld
Till recently I havent visited the Digital Point Forum, but it was a mistake. I always thought that the leader was Seochat.com forum, and Webmasterworld.com.
I was wrong. I just checked the traffic in Google and the digital point forum is getting 10000 to 100000 traffic, and the Seochat.com is getting traffic that is below 10000.
You figure it out. Another nice thing with Digital Point Forum is that you can leave your links in signature, and they do not have no follow tags, so they can pass Page Rank.
In webmasterworld.com you are not allowed to plug any sites or give direct links so many times you get confused because you are unable to show the problem on a site, because you are not allowed to link it.
Seochat is good also but it consists mostly of people who are obsessed with PR, and they are just living for a PR update. Have you heard of a term PR compulsive personality. Well it exists on Seochat.com.
So I stopped visiting Seochat.com altogether. My favorite now is Digital Point Forum and some special Black Hat Forums, that I will not plug here. On this forum there is a lot of secret info, angry black hatters, with dysfunctional personalities but still I visit it from time to time.

There was another Google update this week. So funny in the
same week as Halloween.
Some people are calling it Google Slap 2007. SO what is
Google Slap 2007? Google Slap is a Google punishment for all the link sellers.
I mean it is really easy for Google to find out who is selling from textlinbrokers.com,
Linkworth.com and other link selling sites.
So Google introduced some changes in Google algorithm and
the sites that are selling links from Major link brokers got slapped big time.
But the Google slap was mainly for PR, and it did not affect
rankings, traffic.....
So basically Google is preventing that all these sites stop
selling links and so their PR drastically decreased.
Did Google Slapped my sites? Yes it did, but only one? It
went from PR5 to PR3.
But still there are major players and companies that
are still buying links all the time, not through textlinkbrokers.com but from other
sources like directly contacting other websites. If I make it simple, all the big companiessites are buying links. It is a huge market. I talked with several companies SEO's and ask them what are thes doingregarding SEO. Answer was: We buy links!
I know major players are spending even up to 100000 USD per
month just for buying links. And small websites without enough budget can't
compete. This is not fair, but that will never improve. Google will never win over spamming, gray hat seo. It wil never comea time where nobody will buylinks. Mark mywords. Even if Google is playing police all the time he will never found out all the big players.
Matt Cutts might just check the top 10 for all the popular keywords. They are for sure buying links all the time.

Jewelry Retouching
|
|

We just did a new batch of Jewelry Retouching. After we shoot the pictures, we use Photoshop to remove the background, all the artifacts, improve the color, exposure........
If you would like to use our services, please contact us.
Our clients told us that their website sales tripled after we retouched all their jewelry images. In fact, they got 5 times more newsletter subscribers and 6 times more phone calls.
Perfectly retouched images can do magic, you will double or even triple your sales. From my experience, it is worth investing in jewelry retouching and make your jewelry website more professional.
Our biggest clients gave us positive feedback and on average their sales tripled.
FEW OF OUR BEST JEWELRY SAMPLES
BEFORE AND AFTER JEWELRY IMAGES
Here is an example of how complicated the whole retouching process is, you can clearly see that all of the small stones are cut out and put on separate layer. And also the image is a little bit to sharpened for my taste, but the client wanted it like that. We get the maximum out of each image. Each image is a unique jewelry art that needs a special approach.
BEFORE AND AFTER JEWELRY PIECES
RUBY DIAMOND BRACELET RETOUCHED

RUBY GOLD BRACELET

GOLD BRACELET RETOUCHED

MULTI STONE JEWELRY BRACELET

YELLOW GOLD DIAMOND RING RETOUCHED

DIAMOND YELLOW GOLD NECKLACE RETOUCHED

ANOTHER GOOD EXAMPLE OF VERY ADVANCED RETOUCHING I JUST COMPLETED. In this example I had to do a lot of retouching. I did not want to brush over, because that would look fake, so I repaired each dot, stain on the shank. That took me around 1 hour. But the stones look so amazing. I sharpened them, enhanced colors, this is the diamond ring your would want to buy right?

DIAMOND RING RETOUCHED - I had to remove the black reflection completely and enhance the diamond

YELLOW GOLD RUBY DIAMOND NECKLACE - cutout, enhancing ruby, diamonds, removing blemishes

BRACELET JEWELRY RETOUCH - the original was out of focus, it took me 1 hour to finish this piece, very advanced retouching

DIAMOND BRACELET - this piece took a long time to retouch, we cutout each diamond, took us 1 hour to retouch this

This one was tough, no shank to work with, and extremely bad photography. But my magic hands saved it after 30 minutes. This is ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL RETOUCHING.

Here is another sample of bad original shank, I had to recreate one from scratch. Sometimes clients want clean shanks like that. We can make that happen.

FEW OTHER SAMPLES THAT SHOW OUR DEDICATION TO DETAILS AND CUSTOMER 100% SATISFACTION

Joomla 1.5 RC2 Test Drive
New Joomla 1.5 RC2 is very good. It is not perfect but much
improved from the latest 1.13 version. I have just tested it. It is much
simpler to use, The admin section is improved, not so complicated for newbies
anymore. Now you can much easily orientate thru the admin section of Joomla.
What is new in Joomla 1.5 RC2
-
Well they integrated SEO in the Joomla code. Now you do not
have to use a special add-on for SEO in Joomla anymore. And that is a huge
step. Drupal has it, so why Joomla would not have it. It is very simple, you
can not set what the friendly url would be like, like in Drupal for example but
still it is a step into right direction. I am still dissapointed because some strange characters appears instead of spaces between words and that is a BIG MINUS. I hope they will fix this ISSUE!!!!! I am sometimes disappointed that CMS
makers just forget about SEO. I remember I had a personal chat with Geeklog
(another CMS) maker about met titles, meta tags, meta description, meta
keywords and he told me that that is just a snake oil. I could not believe that
a Geeklog leader is such an idiot. Now if I have to build a CMS site it is
Joomla or Drupal, no more Geeklog and other low proficient CMS.
-
The other thing I have noticed is that you dont have static
and non static content. SO I you want to make a page with intro you just select
with a button where the article should devide between the whole article and the
intro. It is really good and simple. BRAVO for that. I dont want to explain
more about that because it might get complicated. You will see it.
-
Another thing is that it has a very cool integrated WYSIWYG
editor, the new version, and everything runs smoothly. You can upload pictures,
resize them on the spot, you can use the url where the picture is and it is
automatically pulled into the Joomla. This is really cool.
-
And also the code for the template seems to be simpler. That
is a great plus. That is what I saw new for now. Joomla developers said that
they improved the core Joomla code so that is good also.
So the time is coming to upgrade Joomla to 1.5, the upgrade
will nt eb simple, but they claim they will make a special tool to move all the
data to new Joomla setup.

Well I have to write this, this host is horrible. Their support is horrible. If you compare dot5hosting.com and Bluehost.com, it is like comparing a 1975 beetle and Porsche. It is that bad. Why?
Well their support is horrible. It seems that they employ retardet people. I had to setup 3 new websites for a client and I had to call them at least 15 times to ask them to add aditional domain to my server. You can not do it yourself like with other hosts, you have to ask a horrible TECH 2 (fancy name) support and they will do it after at least 10 emails, and 15 phone calls.
Yes that is not all. I tried to install another drupal site and something was wrong with install, these idiots just did not give all the rights to the database user so the installation of drupal was impossible. After that I have tried the Joomla 1.5, the new RC2 (release candidate 2) and still errors.
I am so sick of these horrible people. The support guy even screamed at me once, well what can I say, HORRIBLE EXPIRIENCE.
If you listen to me, never purchase an account with them.

Page titles are the most important factors for ranking on your page. Page title
can be seen only in your html code under document head section. It can also be
seen at the top of the browser.
Page title tags are different as your page text title. They represent more
than 50 % importance to search engines as all the other factors together. So be
sure to optimize your page title correctly.
So probably you are asking me how should I write the best page title, what
is the best page title tag to have on my site. Well the answer is not easy. On recent
SEO seminar I have heard a guy that was talking about page titles.
He said never to change page title tag of your site or page if that page is
number 1 in
search engines. As soon as you change your title a little bit, your ranking may
drop from no.1 position to no. 20 for example.
